Who should attend: Everyone! We all could improve our posture and most of us experience that occasional ache and pain in the shoulder. But what you don't know are perhaps ways to prevent injury and some basic treatments for acute and chronic shoulder injuries.

SPECIAL QIGONG WORKSHOP
“How to Raise Your Energy and Lower Your Stress”
Saturday, April 10TH
10:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Qigong (chi kung) is an ancient Chinese system of health and wellness. It means “energy exercise.” Qigong enables you to improve health and reverse aging! This workshop will focus on increasing energy levels and reducing stress. There will be a short talk and the rest is participatory.
Experienced professional instructors will lead you through a series of slow, gentle, flowing movements so you gather, distribute and store healthy “chi” energy throughout your body. Learn correct physical alignment, proper breathing technique and how to clear the mind and relax the body. There is no impact; no sweating…it’s fun and easy to do. Simply go with the flow!
Qigong also builds stamina and boosts the immune system. It has been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions. It can help increase bone density, has proven to reduce hypertension and also can enhance balance, memory and concentration. Those who practice Qigong on a regular basis find that it helps them regain a youthful vitality, maintain health even into advanced age and speed recovery from illness.
One of Qigong’s great appeals is that everyone can benefit, regardless of ability, age, and belief system or life circumstances. It promotes a lifestyle of balance and harmony. Qigong can be practiced while standing or seated. As with all exercise programs, obtain your physician’s approval before beginning.
You will benefit from the friendly, interactive team-teaching style of Qigong Master Instructors, Bob and Fran German. This dynamic duo has studied, practiced and taught Qigong and Tai Chi worldwide for many years. They first learned their skills travelling through China and now enjoy Chiang Mai, Thailand as their “second home.” Currently they teach aboard cruise ships in far off places and also conduct very popular ongoing Qigong classes in Hendersonville on most Wednesdays.
Give Qigong a try at the “Y”…heal the body, calm the mind, and connect the spirit.
